Beyond
By scorp
Nobody really realizes how small they are. How insignificant. The galaxies and universe around us...at least it makes me feel non-important. What's the point of it all?
I feel like a lot of people have those moments. Yesterday, I was sitting in a clearing, smelling the fresh air. Trees surrounded me, and a low thrum of music played in the distance. Screams echoed as my friends talked and ate with each others company. I stayed down there, alone. I really didn't know why. I guess I just needed a moment to gather myself and act happy again.
No, it wasn't a moment of sadness. I just realized how small, how useless, even, I was. Everybody was. How there was no forever, and one day, we would all fade away, and nobody would really notice.
The Earth would keep spinning. The Milky Way would still exist. Stars would still twinkle in the sky.
And in the end, nothing really matters.
