CHAPTER 15

“W-Who are you?”

The man looked at the kneeling Cyne, and then looked at the others who have suffered torture.

The man reached for his bag and threw a bottle at Cyne.

Cyne caught the bottle containing blue liquid.

“My name is Lance Flaire. Take the rest of the bottles in the bag and wait for me here.”

(He must be the guy we are looking for!)

Lance threw his bag near Cyne and suddenly started to run back where he came from.

Cyne drank the strange blue liquid.

To his surprise, his body started to regain strength and some of his wounds even healed.

(This must be a healing potion! I heard a lot about these from merchants.)

Cyne looked to his right and saw Liz, still lying unconscious on the ground.

He quickly went up to her and made her drink the bottle.

Her body jolted as the wounds from her beating were slowly being healed.

She opened her eyes.

“Cyne…?”

Cyne smiled.

(Thank God the potion worked!)

“Yeah I'm right here.”

Cyne slowly helped Liz up.

He gave her a bottle.

“Take this and give it to Kezia!”

She nodded and quickly went to Kezia who was still tied to a post, unconscious.

Cyne quickly ran to Alph.

He made Alph drink the potion, and suddenly a spark of life came back to Alph.

“Bastards! I’ll kill you!”

Alph quickly rose up and looked for the bandits.

“Hey hey! It’s okay, they have been taken care of.”

Alph punched a nearby tree, breaking it in half.

“Dammit! I let those bastards beat us up like that!”

A dark aura started to ooze out of him again, but he seemed to calm down.

“How about the kid, is she alright?”

“Yeah, she was badly beaten but the potion helped her recover.”

Suddenly an arm wrapped around Cyne, looking him into a tight embrace.

“Thanks… for saving us.”

It was Kezia, her warmth comforted Cyne. They all went through a lot in the span of a day and a half from meeting each other.

Kezia broke her embrace.

“So what do we do now?”

“We wait for Lance to come back.”

Alph smiled. Looks like he’s back to his old self.

“So you met the pyromancer, so what did he-”

Liz cut him off.

“Lance? You mean Lance Flaire!?”

“Yeah?”

“That’s the guy who hired our party!”

Cyne and Alph both raised an eyebrow.

“What did he hire you for?”

“I don’t know, all that the A.U worker told us was that a man named Lance Flaire wanted to hire us for a job in Toph.”

While Liz was talking about their employer, Alph looked around the ruined bandit camp and spotted the words written in the crates.

“From: Mr. Lin Kei?”

Alph suddenly bursted into laughter.

“These bandits stole weapons from one of the best blacksmiths in Izeldris!”

(So that’s why the bandit leader had such a fine longsword)

Suddenly the sounds of a horse coming from the distance could be heard.

Lance had returned.

He brought with him a big caravan.

“Collect those crates, as well as any weapons you find and bring it in the caravan.”

(This guy was being a prick, Alph and the others were being tortured just a few hours ago!)

“Ah.. You there in the red coat.. I need to talk to you.”

Cyne walked towards Lance as the others began to collect the weapons.

“What's your name?”

“Cyne”

“Very well… Mr. Cyne. You and the other man are not a part of the party I hired… So what were you doing here?”

“Me and Alph came across their party wounded along the road, so we helped them, but when night came the bandits kidnapped everyone except me, so when I woke up the next morning, they were missing, and I came here and found them.”

“....and you single handedly took down their leader?”

Cyne nodded.

“Interesting… “

Clang!

Clang!

Tud!

As if he was in a competition, Alph managed to get all the crates inside in record time.

Alph gave thumbs up to the pyromancer.

Lance shrugged

“Alright, everyone get in!”
