Did the Darkness Start in Me?

As the days grow shorter

And the pearly mist seeps over

From the hills to the ground

And all around my world,

I cannot see the mountains,

I cannot see the trees,

I cannot see the rivers

And I cannot see the leaves,

The world grows dark with my soul

But yet I do wonder;

Was it me who started the darkness?

Or did the darkness start me?
