The shadow crept along the halls, listening to every word spoken. It walked along the wall, so it was hard to tell if it was actually three-dimensional. It stopped at a corner where four girls stood jabbering about nonsense.
"Did you hear about that new kid?" A blonde asks the group.
"Yeah, why?" A pink girl asks.
"Cause he's a freak, that's why!" What did this girl just say? The shadow began to creep closer...
"Abigail, that's too far," pinky says. The shadow stops abruptly.
"What're you gonna do about it, Lucy?" The pink girl, Lucy, just glares at her. Then, she turns and walks away. Abigail gives a victory hmph! She turns back to the other girls, but one of them, a brunette, glares at her. "What now?" She asks in a bratty voice that makes the shadow inch closer.
"Don't speak that way to any of my friends ever again!" She runs past Abigail, after Lucy. She does not notice the shadow.
But, looking toward her friend's escape and wondering if she should run too, the girl with highlights squeals at the sight of the shadow. The shadow doesn't move a muscle. If it even had one, that is.
"Ugh, what is it, Sophie?" The other girl tries to sputter something about the shadow directly behind Abigail, but instead, she turns and runs in the other direction. "What?" was the last word the girl spoke before being smothered by the shadow.
There was no light anymore, just darkness. And a feeling that maybe she should've confessed to Alex a few months prior.
Author Notes: Part three in this series. I'm having a lot of fun writing these! I'm trying to make a bit more of a school drama kind of a thing. But, I'm not too good at that so-
Leave a suggestion on how I could improve with it, I would be so very grateful!
Thanks for reading!
