Dream Lover

Take me to a land of hope,

Take me to a land of dreams,

That is what I dreamed

A lover would do for me

I dreamed he would be

A revolutionary

With new thoughts and new ideas

I dreamed he would play music

That could bring me to tears

I dreamed he would

Kiss me long and deep and

I dreamed he would protect

Me in my sleep

But most of all I dreamed

That he would be a poet

With a spark lit

In his soul

But as I grew and as I learnt

I learned that he did not come

So then I had only one choice;

I would be my own lover,

May my soul be burnt

In hell.
