F R I E N D S. . .

She made a mistake
And her friend stood by
telling her it's alright
giving her an alibi
She cried, she screamed
her friend coaxed her
she sniffled, she stopped,
her friend hugged her
She walked away
her friend let go
She found other people
to replace her so
Her friend reached out
she shooed her away
her friend let go
finally away
she joined a fresher group
but she didn't know how much
her friend was part of her
and she tried to hope
her friend gave up
there's no going back
there's no hope
there aren't friends
they are just another lost soul in a sea of loneliness
