Forgive me, will you?

for the words I spoke

and for the words, I thought

forgive me for the times I woke

and for the death, I sought

forgive me for every breath I took

and for that dreadful knot

forgive me for closing the book

And for leaving a fight not fought

forgive me for being a crook

even if the only thing I stole was a life,

a life swarming with unwanted thought
