Forgiveness

Those nasty words you said
Hung around inside my head.
I felt I had caused you pain,
But now I know your true aim.

I know you're hurting,
That's why I'm writing,
But I just want to tell you
That you need to keep fighting.

All your hurt and all that pain,
I feel like I've turned your sun to rain.

I now know that you didn't mean
Those awful things that weren't too clean.

I now just hope
That you won't tie
that awful rope

'Round your collar bone.
It may hurt sometimes, but
Know that you are not alone.
