I remember
Beneath a bitter dawn
In the magic of a concealed sun
In the midday warmth of a tropical sun
The skies aflame with a setting sun
I remember
The glowing sky of a sunrise
The winters pale sunrise tainting the tip of the mountains pink
The single light in frost
The everyday death and birth
I remember
But they don’t
All they know is cold
Rain
The crushing of thousands of forests
The waves coming over the islands
Underground
No real light
But I remember
The morning shines of pearly light
As if a gift from the heavens
Glowing in the first rays of sunshine
The fires of the dawn
I remember
The bliss bathing the hills in a gentle coral light
In the blazing sunshine
I remember
The cold sunlight of early February
In the dying afternoon light
The shattered sun behind the dark clouds
I remember
Something that I can’t see
My fading memories of the sunlight shining on the buildings
Glistening on the enchanting mirrors on the skyscrapers
I feel myself fading
My soul longing for the warmth
My eyes longing for the blinding luminescence
