Insomnia
By Joshua_12
I try to go to sleep,
But my mind just won’t shut off.
I close my eyes,
And I lay so still, but still my mind goes,
It keeps going,
One hundred miles an hour.
I try everything,
I count the sheep,
I count down from one hundred,
But I’m still wide awake.
It’s pitch black,
And everyone's sleep,
But I am here,
My mind thinking.
I wish my mind had an off switch.
Then maybe,
For once,
I could sleep.
It’s one in the morning,
I’m so bored,
And so, so tired.
But my mind just won’t shut off.
It feels like hours have gone by,
But when I look at the clock,
It’s only been ten minutes.
Oh brain,
Oh mind,
Just shut up for once!
Let me sleep for once!
I stare off,
I close my eyes.
My minds still awake,
But my bodys asleep.
Finally it’s morning,
I can finally get up.
But oh, i am so, so exhausted.
I can barely get outta bed.
My insomnia just refuses,
To ever let me sleep.
I can never get,
Even a wink of sleep.
Curse you insomnia!!
Please just let me sleep for once.
