Life Call
Andy (Formerly Apemann)He hated to be away at such an important time. With bills to pay and a roof to keep over their heads the money he earned driving across Europe kept the proverbial wolf from the door.
It was nerve-wracking, though: the not knowing and the uncertainty. He glanced at his dash-mounted mobile, willing it to ring, but it didn’t. Tonight was supposed to be the night!
He whistled tunelessly to himself as he drove, trying to not think.
Then his ‘phone rang. The caller ID said ‘mum’.
“Congratulations,” she said when he answered, “you have a beautiful healthy baby boy!”.
