Lonely November Date

Ash-gray eyes
flickered,
on the eve
of tearing November.
The pain in my chest
dwindled ---
then swelled a minute
to the next.
I'm a damsel in a cage,
between the chipping walls,
barely holding a prayer.

A whisper in my ear,
then a sob muffled.
Then, a dead air
and a sob amplified.
The voice you installed
abated my grief.
But when the sound
was just silence
I became untamed.

I saw your blood
in my hindsight,
your twisted arms
and dismembered soul.

It's a call!

I remember a call.

The rattling sound
of your steering wheel.
Your melting mumbles
and giggles.
The wail of peril
from an engine.

I waited!

In the fully embellished
dinner table.
Beneath the glimmers
of the gold,
Hanging in stately
composure.

My patience ran thinner.
A blank stare.
I remember a call
Again
But the voice was of stranger.

Then I left,

And then there's you,
Drenched in red,
like the hue of the roses
perched on the front seat,
like the color of a box ---
a scarlet glow.

And then there's me,
rolling on the crest
of tidal waves,
Unaware of the idea
how to get onshore.

Trust me dear,
Since November
Life was lonely .
