Looking, but not seeing
By Joshua_12
You look into her eyes,
But you never really see.
You look on the surface,
But never see the inside.
Maybe then you would see her.
See the pain that clouds her eyes.
The sadness stored in them.
Maybe you would see,
The reason she wears long sleeves,
Is to cover the scars,
That run up and down her arms,
That she put there.
Maybe you would see,
That she feels as though,
She isn't good enough,
You would see she's
close to giving up.
You would see that while she acts
As though the words you say,
Don't affect her,
At home, she cries,
And cuts all the pain away.
Maybe you would see,
She just desperately wants a friend.
Someone she can talk to,
Someone she can trust.
But you never see,
All you do is look.
