Mirror Liars

She stares at a mirror. She sees fat and flab. She sees her hair, dry straw-like perched on the top of her head. She sees freckles everywhere. Her face, arms, legs, neck and even her eyes. Maybe her eyes are just freckles that can see.

She doesn't know that her crush thinks freckles are cute.

She stares in the mirror. She's too tall and has to bend down. Her arms are long and angular. She sees a scarecrow and wishes she was of a shorter height. Why is she as tall as her father? She tries to wear really flat shoes and slouch. It doesn't work.

She doesn't know the netball team is considering her.

They sigh.
