Mute, the Town

The words that rang,
had chimed and sprang,
into ears of all the many,
Who lived in town,
it spread around,
that words had cracked the city,
"This can be fixed!"
The people thought,
"Although it not so easy."
So they shut down,
all of the sound, 
and no words were spoken since.
