gas station coffee
people say you're nowhere near as good as Starbucks, that you're gross, that you taste like dirt.
but i disagree.
without you, weary drivers wouldn't have energy to get through the night.
without you, me and my dad wouldn't have a way to spend quality time together, even if it's over a simple drink.
without you, journeys wouldn't begin exactly right.
quite honestly, coffee is coffee. it doesn't matter if it has cream and sugar or caramel sauce or whatever else you want to put on it. it doesn't matter if there's a little green lady on the side of the cup or not. let people drink their coffee without someone else raising an eyebrow at the gas station cup while they balance a venti delicately between their fingers.
gas station coffee, thank you for existing. you are a blessing. don't let anyone tear you down.
