once upon a midnight moon
you held me in your arms
you were there to keep me safe
and keep my nightmares away
once upon a mignight moon
you kissed my blushing cheeks
you were there to love me
so wasn't so alone

you told me I was beautiful
you made me feel valued
and helped me see my worth
then once upon a midnight moon
you dissapeared
leaving me alone
so you you could go love someone else

you held her in your arms
I watched her stand where I once stood
wishing I could still be her

I sat in bed in tears
knowing that you used to care
but now you aren't even here
now every midnight moon
I sit awake and pray
asking God to tell me why
he had to take you away
