Pity
"Pity"she said as she read the obituary.
"Pity", he said, as the body was lowered into the ground.
"Pity" she said when the family spoke their prayers over the casket.
"Pity"' he said to the rainy clouds.
"Finally", they said, happy that there was a job well done.
|| Mary Donahue was murdered. Nobody knew who did it, nobody knew who wanted her dead. People liked her, and it was a pity she was dead. However, some were glad, for Mary Donahue knew things she shouldn't have. ||
