A Place to Call Home

A Place to Call Home

By Mitzi Danielson-Kaslik

I am looking for a place,

Which I could call my home,

A city which would be worthy of me,

If I can ever call myself,

An Artist

Not Paris,

Nor New York nor London,

Not Venice,

Nor Rome nor Florence,

Have satisfied my longing,

For a place I could call home

Perhaps my longing is due never to be satisfied

However, it has come to my attention

That I may have to create a city,

A land of peace, lust,

Desire, love and artistry,

For myself to call home,

A city which would be worthy of me,

If I can ever call myself,

An Artist

Alas, such a place cannot be built,

From mans’ bricks and mortar,

But must be created,

From written words spun,

Elaborately to form delicate paragraphs,

Or verses which can create,

Such a place within myself,

A place I can call home

A place we can all call home.
