A Refraction

A Refraction

By Mitzi Danielson-Kaslik

I look out of the window,

Out over the rolling green hills,

Rolling to the cliffs that lead to the sea,

And the tall trees with lush leaves,

And the warm air fragranced,

With summertime and lavender,

The lavender grows in the gardens,

Of the old villa by the cliffs,

That lead down to the sea,

The see that reflects the light rays,

And fires them gently for miles,

Until they refract through the glass,

Of the window pan in my room,

Until all the light runs out.
