you asked a question in history class today. i heard your words, but i didn't see their deeper meaning until later.
"why can't we go back to fighting with swords and shields?"
these, in comparison to nuclear weapons, seem kinder, less destructive. They don't bring entire cities to the ground in moments.
the teacher had a good answer for you.
"once people find power, they don't want to give it up."
and he was right. but this weapon is one we've had all along. we use it every day, all while underestimating just what it is that we are holding.
