the ladder of death

If I die tomorrow,
Would you even care?
Would you even notice
that I wasn’t there?
I took the pills, I feel their effect,
The count down till I fade has been set.
My body going numb,
How could I ever be so dumb.
The life slowly drains,
I can almost hear angels singing their praise.
Do I go to heaven?
I thought this was a sin?
I never figured god would let me in.
The tears roll down my cheek as I know it’s almost the end.
I can feel death now as my vision blurs.
I feel so cold can I please find warmth?
I can hear them clearly now, the angels.
I can see the light,
I hear those angels tell me it will be alright.
The end has come and I don’t look back.
The life I once led is nothing anymore.
I finally found peace,
I finally found where I belong.
