You’re my best friend

But ever since you got jealous

I knew that was about to end.

You know how I feel

And yet you go behind my back

And you watch me sink.

You know about the nights I cry

You know the thoughts in my head

The ones that stare back at me in the mirror

And wish to see me dead.

You’re not pretty.

You’re not smart.

You’re not skinny.

And you don’t have a good heart.

You watch these thoughts grow into weeds

You watch them cover my face

You know the only thing that makes me happy

And that’s the thing you chase.

You find it, you take it, you make me watch

My sadness endures

As you take all of my happiness

And you make it yours.
