The Meanings Lost in a Book

My love is stuck in the hardcover of a book

My mind was lost in the hundreds of pages

My hopes, my dreams caged in the thousands of sentences

And all of my feelings trapped behind the meaning in those pages, those sentences, and words that no one bothered to read or understand

My body became the lock id confide in

My face became the key; I constantly changed for someone else

Until i could not open the door to my soul

I started to realize that "don't judge a book by its cover" was true

I only hoped no one realized it too
