The Price of Losing You

By Rachel Elizabeth

Will you still love me?

Will you still care?

When I get lost

you be there?

It’s so easy to love me now

While I live in such grace

But tell me what will happen

When tears streak down my face?

It’s so easy to hold me now

Together, well, and strong

But what will become of us

When Ive pretended for too long?

When the world crumbles

And when my glory fades

Will I still be yours?

Or will another bless your days?

I’m not the girl you think you know

I’m not the child you once knew

But can I really be myself

At the price of losing you?

Author Notes: I found this in my notes app on my phone. It was written September 21, 2021. It reflects the feelings I had at the time of needing to be perfect all the time for everyone. Reading this brought me back to those weeks and allowed me to see the growth I have had since then. I hope these words resonate with you as much as they did with me. You are all beautifully imperfect, don't let anyone change who you are :)
