The Roos at the Drive In
Anthony EThe Kangaroo Family also called the Roo's spent all their time together
They went swimming and enjoyed going to the park
They loved hiking trails and picnicking in the afternoon
But they always came home well before dark
The Roo kids wanted to go out at night
They wanted to go to the Drive in Movie
Please, please, Daddy, can you take us
Well Daddy Roo was feeling kinda groovy
"OK we can go as long as it doesn’t cost too much,"
Was all that Mamma Roo said
So they packed up all 5 kids in the car
And they nibbled on peanut butter bread
As they drove up to Owl the ticket taker
The ticket sign said ten dollars each
Daddy Roo didn’t have enough money
And Mamma Roo could not even speak
"Hurry fast," said Daddy Roo
We will have to find another way
As he drove up to Owl the ticket taker
He got out his money to pay
Owl looked into the car window
Are there only two of you inside?
The back of the car was empty
Where did all of the kids hide?
Owl saw Daddy Roo’s pouch
It was big and it really stood out
Owl said, “Who is in there?”
Tell those kids to come on out
Daddy Roo searched and lurched
He pulled out an umbrella and began to say
I always keep this yellow umbrella
Just in case of a rainy day
Owl looked and saw something else
Something was poking out
"Who is that in your pouch
Who and what is this all about?"
Daddy Roo said, “I would never trick you.”
He said it with his fingers crossed
Then he pulled out a bowling pin
And a bright red bowling ball
Ok, Ok, said Owl, you can come in
Just then the kids popped out of Mamma's pouch
Daddy Roo had a scared looked on his face
He thought that they might all be kicked out
Then Owl smiled at them and said,
"Roos, do not worry about the ten dollar ticket fee
Because it’s Tuesday and on every Tuesday
All Kids are always FREE!
