Tragedy Act

Passionless notes play on
As the music starts to die
I feel the world in my hand
As stage lights begin to shine

This attention I don’t need
This life I don’t want
Just another day

With a chance to end life
Glance the knife in hand
I lust for the pain to go away
Oh God, can you help me

This attention I don’t need
This life I don’t want
Just another day

I waited for the sun
To blind me through clouds
For shame and tragedy
To be thrown away
I waited for someone
To lead me back home
Hoping someone would come
But no one
Seems to care

Captive audience sits and stares
Thinking, the fool that I am
Believing I could take myself
And stop the air I breathe

This attention I don’t need
This life I don’t want
Just another day

I waited for the sun
To blind me through clouds
For shame and tragedy
To be thrown away
I waited for someone
To lead me back home
Hoping someone would come
But no one
Seems to care

Applause from them
When the curtain falls
In words of pain
The scream of silence

Reflection looks back at me
In the steel that I hold
With lifeless eyes
I saw the world is gone
It’s turned away
Leaving me cold, in the dark
But I need someone
To make my breath escape
And to close my eyes
For one last time
