Trying to Forget
By Poet
I'm trying to forget
all the days
that we spent together
I'm trying to forget
the fact
that I'll be alone forever.
Im trying to forget
the days
of you and I,
im trying to forget
the moment
i saw it in your eyes,
That you no longer loved me
And instead despised
everything I was.
You went around and lied
to my teachers and our friends
about me.
They never trusted me again.
I'm trying to forget
when you asked me
"what's wrong?"
and I said "nothing"
because I was trying
to not move on
without you.
But then a month later I had to,
because you replaced me,
just like you always do
when you lose a friend.
I'm trying to forget
the moment you avoided my eyes
and said you couldn't talk to me anymore.
There's nothing I could do
about any of you.
I'm trying to forget
how it feels
to be broken inside.
I'm trying to forget
all of you.
Author Notes: “I always said I’d take a bullet for you. I just didn’t realize that you’d be the one holding the gun.”
