Universal Existence (Οικουμενική Ύπαρξη)

-From my text on the Logos (The Word).

The agency of eternal motion and energy, the noetic inception of the cosmos, and the underlying structure of reality are all connected to what is known in Meleticism, as the principle of universal existence. This concept encompasses the fundamental nature of being, the continuous flow of existence and the interconnection of all things within the broad structure of reality.

To understand universal existence, we must first ask the question, which is what is existence itself? If existence is primary and consciousness is secondary, then we must analyse the relationship between the physical and the abstract. The properties of the universe, both tangible and conceptual, imply that existence is not only defined by the material structures we observe, but by the consciousness that perceives and interprets them also. In this sense, existence is not a static state; instead, it is a dynamic process of awareness and realisation.

The only effective method of learning about the cosmos is through direct application utilised. Knowledge is not something that arises in isolation; it emerges from experience, observation and rational contemplation. If we seek to understand existence, we must engage with it, study it and analyse the intricate patterns that shape reality.

The process of acquiring knowledge about universal existence follows a distinct sequence:

Observation is the primary act of perceiving reality as it presents itself. Before we assign meaning to what we experience, we must first acknowledge and recognise it. Observation is the foundation upon which all knowledge is built.

Perception is the cognitive process through which we interpret what we observe. Perception is shaped by our consciousness, experiences and mental faculties, allowing us to make sense of what we encounter with our perception.

Interpretation is the final stage, in which reason and understanding interact with each other. Through interpretation, we extract meaning from our observations and perceptions, forming concepts, theories and beliefs about the nature of existence.

Universal existence is a reflection of our natural existence. Our awareness of being derives from our ability to think, reason and observe. Each action of the mind reinforces our participation in reality. We could apply this to the following analogy:

I think, therefore I have a mind.

I reason, therefore I have consciousness.

I observe, therefore I have perception.

I live, therefore I have existence.

Universal existence teaches us that our existence aligns with a greater, universal model that represents the quintessence of reality itself. Just as individual beings experience their own unique existence, so too does the cosmos as a whole possess a fundamental order that governs its nature. Universal existence is not merely a philosophical abstraction; it is the fundamental essence of how everything within the universe is connected, sustained and manifested.

To fully better comprehend the function of universal existence, we must explore its relationship with various metaphysical principles. Existence does not occur in isolation; it is interwoven with other essential aspects of being. Among these are:

Coexistence

– The recognition that existence is not solitary but shared. Everything that exists does so in relation to other entities, whether physical, conceptual, or noetic.

The Universe

–The vast expanse in which all existence unfolds, encompassing both the known and the unknown, the material and the immaterial.

Omneity

– The totality of all that exists, the entirety of being as an all-encompassing reality.

Omnitude

–The condition of being all-present, the idea that existence extends throughout space and time, forming an interconnected whole.

Hyparchein

–The emergence of existence, the initial act of being, the point at which reality begins to manifest.

Eonta

–The beings that exist, those entities that possess presence, whether animate or inanimate.

Empsycha

–Animated beings with self-awareness, those capable of recognising their own existence and engaging in conscious thought.

All of these principles collectively form what can be considered the omphalos of the cosmos, which is the central structure upon which the nature of reality is founded. In understanding these interwoven aspects, we gain insight into how existence functions at both a macrocosmic and microcosmic level.

Universal existence operates through three essential philosophical elements: causation, movement and contingency. Each of these elements contributes to the structure of reality and plays an important role in shaping the continuous process of being.

Causation

–The principle that every event, action or state of being arises from a preceding cause. Existence is not random; it follows a chain of causality, where each moment is influenced by what came before it. This interconnected labyrinth of causes and effects forms the foundation of universal order.

Movement

–The perpetual motion of reality, both in the physical and metaphysical sense. Nothing remains entirely still; everything is in a state of flux, evolving, changing and transitioning from one state to another. Movement is not merely mechanical, conceptual, as ideas, consciousness, and understanding are all subject to progression and transformation.

Contingency

–The recognition that existence is not absolute, but dependent upon conditions and circumstances. Every event, being and phenomenon relies upon a unique series of interdependent factors, shaping the course of reality through a delicate balance of possibilities.

All of these elements are calculated by the property of time. Time itself serves as the medium through which causation unfolds, movement occurs and contingency is determined. Without time, existence would be static and unchanging. Because time is an inherent part of reality, everything within the universe exists in a state of continual becoming, rather than mere being.

Universal existence consists of multiple dimensions that define its relevance and meaning. It is not a singular concept, but a vast and intricate system that governs the essence of being. Universal existence represents the manifestation of reality in its purest form, embodying the principles of motion, causality and consciousness.

Reality in its most fundamental state is not separate from our perception of it. Just as light cannot exist without illuminating something, existence cannot be fully realised without awareness. The fundamental act of perceiving reality brings it into focus, allowing it to be understood and explored.

Furthermore, the concept of universal existence suggests that everything within the cosmos is bound together by an unseen order. This order is not imposed externally, but arises naturally from the essence of being itself. The laws of physics, the nature of consciousness and the principles of logic all emerge from the same underlying structure of reality.

The continual motion of existence serves as a testament to the infinite nature of universal existence. Just as the cosmos expands and evolves, so too does our understanding of it. Each discovery, each philosophical realisation and each moment of contemplation adds to the vast reservoir of knowledge that defines our place within the universe.

To contemplate universal existence is to engage in an ongoing journey of discovery. Universal existence is not something that can be fully understood in a single moment, nor is it a concept that can be reduced to a simple formula. Rather, it is an unfolding mystery that invites us to explore, question and seek deeper understanding.

Through observation, perception and interpretation, we engage with the primary nature of reality. Through causation, movement and contingency, we discern the dynamic structure of existence. And through the interconnected principles of coexistence, omnitude and hyparchein, we come to see that our individual existence is but a reflection of a greater cosmic order that is beyond the concept of a creator god.

In this realisation, we find meaning, not in seeking to control reality, but in striving to comprehend it. Universal existence is not merely an abstract philosophy; it is the true essence of being itself, inviting us to embrace the infinite journey of understanding that is discovered through the presence of (Το Ένα), which is the One in Greek.
