When I Cut Myself

When I Cut Myself

By JustNicoleValiukas - 4 Reviews

There is silver in my veins again,
it melts on my sheets and stains again.
I can smell the blood that's in the air,
I can taste the pain- it's everywhere.
Once more I lean against the blade.
Once more I hurt, and I don't feel afraid.
This keeps me breathing, keeps me sane.
This keeps the voices out of my brain.

There are diamonds in my tears again,
I sing a song for a broken friend.
I can smell the hope- it's bleeding out.
I can taste the decay of wilted flowers.
Once more I cut, once more I scream.
Once more I can't hold onto me.
This keeps me here, keeps me alive.
This keeps the sadness out of my eyes.

There is gold in my bones again,
it bends and shapes to fill the cracks in.
I can smell the burning of my flesh.
I can taste the salt of my cold sweat.
Once more my heart skips a beat.
Once more I can't escape the heat.
This keeps me whole, keeps me in hell.
This keeps me from losing myself.
