simple yet effective. Subtlety is missing here. Sounds like a story I'd write in my 20's. a good quick laugh is all this story elicited.
When ever your start feeling sorry for yourself, pull up this story and you will start to count your blessings and naming them one by one!

I haven't laughed so much whilst reading this series of incidents entitled
"You think you are having a bad day?"
The stories are almost totally believable as true. Could make a good film about these. Just needs expanding into a consistent storey theme about an unfortunate family - always getting into severe scrapes!
