If we all got upset every time something bad happened in the world, we would loose our sanity. You're not a bad person if you can't tackle every issue. Dealing with the present lockdown is a new experience even for adults. Is it any wonder a lot of people find it hard to handle. Don't break the law, this lockdown won't last forever, it can't or economies all over the world will crumble. Surely no government run by sentinent adults will allow that.

I agree with what you say, but for how you connect the idea of a happy life and the idea of 'gender and sex' doesn't really fit together.

Our time isn't the first when people have questioned traditional gender roles. It happened when men went off to fight in both world wars and women took over jobs that had once been theirs. They didn't do it to prove a point but to keep the economy going until peace returned. It happened when women first got the vote. That said, some people were nostalgic for a happy time years before and so tried to resist or slow the process of change.
I agree that change must come from within rather than by changing appearances.
This is a really brave piece. A lot of people will argue so much about this and go against what you're saying (likely to suppress their own guilt), but it's so true and so important to talk about it. Porn is a quiet disease that needs to be addressed more. The depths of its darkness feeds and is really toxic. Thanks for sharing this part of your story.
