"It just hurts," she said.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, I'll give so much of myself to someone, and they make me feel as though they'll do the same thing," she says. "Except they don't. They never do. They always end up leaving, or putting me down, or giving up, or just deciding I'm no longer good enough to hang out with. I'm the one that puts in so much effort, and they never do. And it hurts."
