On Friday, my best friend got to my house at 3:45. We drove straight to where the poetry contest was. I had to be there at 4:30, and it was 50 minutes away.
We got there and I left my family and BFF to rehearse for the last time.
The clock hands crept closer and closer to 5:30.
But I stopped being nervous. It started, and I stood up to present my first poem. Then my second. Then my third.
It. Was. Awesome.
I am so glad I did it. People really enjoyed my poetry!!!
And then we took my bestie out to dinner, at 5 guys. It was amazing, and I would do it all over again.
Oh, and no. I didn't win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, but its the experience that matters.
