Untamed
scorpAn outlined skyline, a stark contrast of the sunset
Where the vast expanse of the sky and the city met.
Looking at the clouds, looking at the heights,
In the distance, the flickering lights.
Shine like stars, Zeus extends his fingers,
And sweeps me up, and his seraphic touch lingers.
The bittersweet smell of magic and dust,
Down the sidewalks and into parks where I trust,
That all will be well, a wild urge to roam,
Looking at the leaves, turning keys to home,
But I can’t help, the thrum of music in my veins,
The call of the wild, I watch from my room as it rains.
I pack my things up, knowing I can’t stay,
I step outside and leave, needing space, needing to get away.
I find myself in the middle of the forest, answering my call,
And I feel the soil under me, and the curtains of the night fall.
