Huh. I don't know how to say what I'm thinking, but I like what this story does to make the reader think.
Ooh~ I like the mystery revolved around this! Why did he leave? What does "leave" even mean in this context? Why would Kol give him away? So many questions, I love it! Good job :)

I've had this problem before. Honestly I don't have any idea what the best course of action is when wanting to say something but being afraid of what will happen if you do, but this certainly captures the uncertainty of the situation.
Sometimes keeping someone secret can be a burden. I had a friend that I liked a lot but found out a dark secret they didn’t know I knew. Till this day I’ve kept it a secret because I didn’t want to hurt their feelings for knowing it. Was I wrong to do so?
I really enjoyed your story. I get drawn to such stories about creepy old houses haunted by ghosts and zombies every now and then. Well done.
