This is certainly a different and unique way to view parenthood. Straight out of the gate it had the dispositions of how a child came about whether out of wedlock, infidelity, rape, pure love. And it's not only that which is seen in a child, but also what a parent does because kids are impressionable, especially at a young age. We in general, not just parents, are guilty of such legacy wanted to leave behind. I'm sure every person who has been brought onto this earth has at least one trait similar to their parents. That would be the legacy left on.
This also goes into not just abstract ideas such as the legacy, but also the physical beings like sleepless nights and grey hairs with worry lines. All that effort, money and time spent with a child is excruciating and consuming of an individual. It's as if a parent does live the life of a child being concerned and catering for their needs. The question is whether it is more for the needs of the child or the parent. Because in the end, are we afraid of what we left behind? I'm sure we have regrets so...
Love the flow, love the choice of vocab, overall idea is phenomenal and brought attention to question such thought.
I've gotta say this. People don't really know this, but I used to be that way. Cutting myself, bring myself into bad situations, or just thinking that there is nothing left for me. That all changed for me though. For me, I don't write to express. I use quotes to express (I don't do it much anymore as I am better emotionally now). These quotes helped me get through as for people didn't really notice how I was feeling or if there was trouble 'cause I was more of a loner type. From using those quotes and remembering them when something was said or done to me and/or others, I just pulled them from my memory file and said it to myself making the situation seem brighter compared to dwelling on it and letting it eat me.

Those are a few words to define this fine work of art.
Frickin' LOTR is the BEST! Absolutely love Legolas because all us LOTR fans know that elves are the best race in the series and that archery is the best combat style in the series.
Love this.
Okay, my first name is Doctor, and my last name is Love. And you have a case of the fallsies it seems for someone who is different based on your diagnosis. Not uncommon, but for sure not common. Seems that the person for you is Spock. He shows no love, but knows the definition of love. Like how you wrote this poem about love, but not having it be a love poem.
This perfectly describes how we all feel about dogs. Losing a dog just destroys us. Now after that our dog, Shadow, died, I now wave at his picture everyday missing him at every moment.
I'm a dude and just looking at the title scared me into believing that it would be just bashing guys, but now I see it is more about friendship and am happy about that. Having many friends that are chicks, I can actually relate to this. Usually women bond together after a heartache or a heartbreak and say, "you can do better" and, "he doesn't deserve your heart", so I totally see where you come from on this.
